The making of "L'attitude"

This is how I made my picture "L'attitude".
The pose Amalie did here is called attitude.

When I photographed at the Louvre I was all alone for about 1 1/2 hours. From around 5:15 to 6:45 AM
Amalie was shot in my studio 4 months after I came home from Paris.
The two skies was shot one evening from a place called Rambergbukta on Jeløy in Norway during this summer.

THE FINAL RESULT:

THE PICTURES I USED:

STEP BY STEP:

This is how it was shot, straight out of camera.

This edit was done in Camera Raw. Made it warmer, more light in the shadows, darkened the highlights and sharpened it.

Masked out the sky and added the two skies you saw above in the "pictures I used" section.

Added more light using Curves and masking.

Bringing in Amalie as she was shot in the studio.

Masked out Amalie using the Pen tool.

Changed colors, ligthtened the shadows, and added shadows

Made it warmer, darker and added a vignette.

And then some more light again. The end.

  2. Okay, so I'm totally new to Photoshop so just wanted to ask you one thing. What do you mean by "Masked out the sky"? I don't understand what is masking. I searched it on Google but didn't understand. Would you please tell me? :)

Btw, this picture is amazing! Love it! :D

    1. Try searching for "Layer Masks". That is what he meant by masking out the sky.
